About Thirty

This comedy of errors revolves around a hapless 30-year-old named Arturo. His penchant for indiscretions is as impossible to overlook as the finesse with which the film glides from March 2020 to the preceding decade and back again.
Argentinian writer/director Martín Shanly is effortlessly charming in the lead role as Arturo, who gets separated from his friends on the way to a wedding, setting off a few slapstick adventures, along with reminiscences about broken relationships. About Thirty is a film of the moment–an alternately laugh-out-loud funny and genuinely moving snapshot of being young, queer, and aimless in an increasingly unstable world.
About Thirty is Shanly’s second feature film, following About 12 (2014). About Thirty premiered at the 2023 Berlinale. We are happy to be hosting its US premiere.
