Cinema as a Public Art

Founded in 2015, The Public Cinema was created to share vital works of contemporary cinema that wouldn’t screen in Knoxville otherwise. The only agenda is to create a space for cinema as an art form and to build community among discerning moviegoers.

Film Fest Knox

In 2023, The Public Cinema, in collaboration with Visit Knoxville and Regal, launched Film Fest Knox, an annual, four-day festival dedicated to showcasing and advocating for personal, ambitious regional American cinema.
